KNOW WHEN IT’S TIME TO REPAIR OR REPLACE YOUR HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM
Premier HVAC Mechanical Corporation understands that when your A/C or Heat goes out, it can be very stressful and can make for impulsive or bad decisions. We have outlined below some quick rules of thumb to help you through your stressful time of NO A/C or Heat. No one wants to endure the heat of summer or cold of winter and unnecessarily pay big dollars to replace an HVAC system that can be repaired. Here are some of our guidelines.
If a system is more than 10 years old, it is most likely an R-22 refrigerant system. In this case, if a leak is detected or if the system has a bad compressor, the best decision would be to replace. A new system would provide new R-410 refrigerant with much better efficiency and warranties. If the repair cost exceeds $1000, Premier HVAC Mechanical Corporation would like to discuss all the options and propose the best solution to best fit your situation.
If a system is 8 years or older and has required costly repairs for several years, it might be time for a new one. There are various contributing factors that can cause repetitive costly repairs such as: oversized or undersized HVAC system, incorrect duct design (typically a system that is too small), incorrect refrigerant line-set size and poor indoor air quality or humidity control, or neglect from proper maintenance which can lead to dirty coils or filters.
If a system is less than 8 years old, was sized and installed correctly and has been maintained properly, then repairs would likely be the best and least costly solution.
We know that this can be a difficult time and we are here to help and explain all of your options available to you. Call Premier HVAC Mechanical Corporation for a free estimate TODAY!
